Our appointment was at 1:45 although we got there at about 1:00. That turned out to be a good thing as it took us 30 minutes to get in the building because of security. Once we did get in, it was another one hour wait to get our interview. Our interviewer was an older woman, fairly cold and serious, and seldom smiled during our interview. Afterwards we were told to sit in the waiting room while the interviewer made copies of our documents. We thought things weren't going too well, but to our surprise, my wife was approved!
BTW it seems you can bring your cell phone into the building. I vaguely overheard as we were passing through security that cameras were forbidden but that cellphones were okay. In the waiting people I saw several people using their iphones/blackberries in plain view of the security guard.

Overall, the experience was not as easy as we thought (Interview in Embassy was easier) since the Immigration Officer was pretty tough and questioned every documentation. We had more than enough documentation with both our names(electric bills, gas bills, mortgage statements, credit cards, photos). She did not believe that the birth certficate was real but we had to explain to her that that is how it is done in C's country. She also questioned why C's name was not on the bank statement (we have paperless statements where it does not state the name). We provided a letter from the bank with both our names, ATM card with the same account number and cashed checks (has both our names) with C's signature and she said that wasn't sufficient. She also stated that we did not properly change the name correctly after marriage (we did it correctly). Moreover, she questioned why passport photos were not sent in for both us (I thought it was only for the person for AOS, I got a passport photo made i... read complete review

Everything went according to plan, the AO asked about how we met, looked at our photos and made copies of our bills, my social security card etc. When the AO came back from making copies she asked if I had my fingerprints taken and I showed her my Biometrics appointment notice with the dated stamp on it. She left again to make a copy of that and came back with a form stating that a decision can't be made until further administrative checks are completed. I asked what the outcome of the interview was and she said she felt our marriage was valid and that we will hear from the USCIS once the checks are complete.
